How to use the Bridgemate

When the Bridgemate is asleep, press OK to awaken 
The blinking curser tells you where you are in the Bridgemate 
Press the keys firmly and be sure to get the correct response 
To delete/correct an entry, press CANCEL 
To return to a previous screen, press CANCEL 
       

   Initial Setup:
Turn on by pressing OK            Initial Display:  BRIDGEMATE 
Press OK to continue               Display: Section 
Two possible methods to choose the correct Section:      
   press + or – to change to correct Section      
   press 1 for Section A, 2 for Section B, or 3 for Section C 
When the correct Section is displayed, press OK 
Next Display: Table Number 
Use number keys to enter Table Number 
Press OK                               Display:  N, S, E, W, with lines to enter player ACBL numbers Enter player ACBL numbers using the number keys, pressing OK after each After a second or two, the names of the players will appear.  Check to see if all are correct. If there is an error, please call the director for help. 
If all players are correct 
Press OK        

   Initial and subsequent rounds:                                             
                                                Display: the assigned boards for the round are displayed Check to see if displayed boards match the physically present boards 
Press OK                                Display: the board to be played 
Bid the hand 
At the conclusion of the bidding enter the contract using the number and card keys, example  3 Spades When it happens, add “X” for double or “XX” for redouble 
Enter the contract winner - N, S, E, or W - by pressing N/S once for N or twice for S - same for E/W 
Alternatively, press “Pass” for passed out hand or press “0” for a late or NO play hand 
Press OK 
Enter the opening lead, example 2 Hearts 
Press OK 
Play the board 
Press OK to wake the Bridgemate 
Use number keys to enter the tricks made above book.  Example-bid 3S, made 2S- enter 2 
Press OK                           Note: CANCEL will return you to the Contract screen. 
IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE NUMBER OF TRICKS MADE, AND YOU HAVE
ALREADY ADVANCED TO THE NEXT SCREEN, THEN PUSH CANCEL TO RETURN TO THE CONTRACT SCREEN. 
Wait for the results to appear - 1 to 2 seconds 
Pass the Bridgemate to E or W to confirm the entry - contract, opening lead, and result E or W confirms by pressing OK 
Note: It is the responsibility of the E/W checker to insure the correct information is in the transponder. 
Bridgemate will “go to sleep” in 20 seconds. Press OK to wake   

To continue to the next board, press OK until the correct board number is displayed. 
Press CANCEL to back up if necessary 
Continue as above for the next board play 
When the round is completed, the round results will be displayed for all boards played.   

Press OK to wake the Bridgemate        Display: the next players 
Press OK if all is well. If not, please call the director       Display: the next set of boards 
Check to see if the displayed and the physical boards match.  Press OK 
Note: Be sure to check for correct orientation of the physical boards - N is playing N hand of board 
Continue as above through the round   

Please do not hesitate to call the director if you have a problem. 
Please call the director before trying to make a correction if you are unsure about it.
